How It All Began
An Oasis of Peace in the Heart of Nature
On the eastern edge of the picturesque town of Hustopeče, in the heart of South Moravia, you’ll find a little piece of paradise. Vineyards stretch across the landscape, alongside the largest almond orchard in the Czech Republic and a charming wooden lookout tower offering views of Pálava and the White Carpathians.
And right in the middle of it all, tucked away in a small apricot orchard, you’ll find an oasis of peace — Vinařství Starý vrch.
Founded in 2014 by father-and-son team Petr and Lukáš Poličtí, the winery is built from natural stone and oak, with a terrace shaded by apricot trees. Hidden from the eyes of passers-by, it’s a place where you can simply slow down and enjoy your time, undisturbed.

Tomáš makes sure our wine travels further than just our own terrace. He takes care of corporate orders and our online shop.

Petra Linhartová
Petra looks after the wine bar, tastings and everything that makes sure our space looks exactly as promised on the day of your event.
Winemaker & Vineyard Manager
Ing. Ondřej Lukeš
Ondřej takes care of everything related to our wine, from A to Z. He looks after our vineyards, the grape harvest and the entire winemaking process, all the way to the bottle.
Distribution & Warehouse
Petr Šidlo
You’ll most often meet Petr when picking up your wine. You may also spot him around the winery, taking care of our garden.
How We Work
From Vineyard to Cellar — Just a Short Walk
Our vineyards are in Hustopeče, Strachotín and Popice, so the grapes don’t have far to travel to the cellar. We harvest according to what the vineyard tells us — not according to the calendar.
Around 15,000 litres of wine mature each year in original French oak barrels. We leave the rest clean and fresh, because not every wine needs to be aged in wood.
